Dog Day Afternoon (US, 1975)

A celebrated movie at the time but looks date now. Brave of Pacino to play a homosexual in the ’70s and while the film is obviously liberal its shot of gay protesters seems include every gay stereotype they could think of (no one looks ‘normal’). The pacing seems slow now and the cops inept (contrast with the way situations are locked down in films like Inside Man); however, it may be realistic in this.

The FBI guy (a ringer for George Dubya) is represented as the supreme professional; something I doubt we’d see now. (OAR)
