Shadows (US, 1959)

A landmark of indie cinema. ‘Proper’ indie, guerilla cinema made on the run (they had no permits for shooting in New York but Broadway & Central Station still appear); and it’s improvised. And it’s great! The raw footage (and the dubbing’s obvious) and sometimes non conventional editing give it an immediacy that’s very watchable. (DVD, 2) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053270/
